Over the past few decades, Du Toitskloof has become an iconic presence at South African tables. In 1962, six visionary wine farmers established Du Toitskloof Wines as a cooperative. Their journey began with the purchase of 18 hectares of land and the acceptance of their first grapes in February 1963.

Initially known for bulk wine production, the winery transitioned to the bottled wine market in the early 1990s. From the start, Du Toitskloof earned a reputation for innovation and a strong commitment to social development as a Fairtrade producer.

In 1946, a vineyard was established, laying the foundation for a multi-generational legacy. Today, the great-grandchild of the founder continues this tradition, skillfully crafting wines that capture moments of pure concentration, blending the familiar with the exceptional.

Bottelary, the birthplace and ancestral home, is a close-knit farming community. Here, the focus lies on Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinotage, grapes that symbolize Stellenbosch. The vineyard boasts old bush vines, some planted as far back as 1947, exemplifying the commitment to longevity.

Kaapzicht is in the midst of transitioning to organic and regenerative agriculture, guided by the belief that what benefits the earth also benefits the vines, resulting in the creation of superior wines.
